コロナ禍において、私たちは厳しい現実を味わってきました。
このスラムで育ったレインボーチルドレン卒業生のサンタンも、インドでのロックダウン後、自身の観光業を失った1人です。
それによって、スラムスクールも長い間閉校されていました。
彼はデリー大学を自力で卒業後、彼が育ったコミュニティの環境改善の一助となるために、観光や経営管理について学びたいと考え、レインボーチルドレンの奨学金を得て最終的に修士号を取得しました。
卒業後は、自らの収入でスラムの子供たちのためのフリースクールを運営し、社会問題としてのスラムの現実を啓蒙する活動を行ってきました。
最近、ようやくスラムスクールが週3日の日程で開校しました。子供たちみんな元気に学校に戻ってきて、学校で勉強したり友達に会ったりすることができてとても幸せそうです。
この危機状況下で、寄付金は彼らにとって非常に貴重であると同時に、その額は限られています。
そのため、皆様から受け取った寄付の使い途について、慎重かつ徹底的に話し合いを重ねてきました。
このコロナ禍では、またいつ突然、情勢が変わるかはわかりません。実際、サンタンが職を失ったあとも、閉校しているにも関わらず、教室の家賃は請求され、それを支払えないという期間がありました。大家さんにとってもそれが生活費ですので請求せざるを得ないのが現実です。
スラムでは日本のようなあらゆる種類の社会的救済措置もありません。
これらのことを踏まえ、最終的に一度にまとめて全額寄付するのではなく、以下のように計画的かつ堅実な方法で寄付を使っていくことに決定しました。

決定した寄付の内訳について———————————————-
子どもたちが、今本当に必要なものに、無駄なく使っていけるよう、用途に合わせて貯金箱を3つに分けました。
2020年2月に行われたRainbowChildren×JAMMINチャリティーイベントによる日本での寄付総額：104,500ルピー（≒157,653円）
●貯金箱①子どもたちの文房具や教材費用
14,500ルピー（≒21,875円）
当初の使途予定だった、子どもたちの文房具や教材が不足した際に、ここから随時賄われます。現地ボランティア三輪さんが管理します。
●貯金箱②学校の運営・維持費用
5,000ルピー/月（≒7,543円）×18ヶ月
= 90,000ルピー（≒135,778円）
家賃が払えないと教室が使用できません。コロナ禍により、学校運営費に充てていたサンタン個人の収入が激減してしまったため、当面の教室の家賃をはじめ、サニタイザー・石鹸・マスクなどのコロナ感染対策用品、電球やウォータータンクなどの消耗品等、学校運営に必要な経費はここから充てられます。
毎月初めにサンタンに送金します。

2021年3月に行われた「H2Oサンタ NPOフェスティバル」における、ブライスオークションチャリティー配当寄付、JAMMIN Tシャツ販売寄付、香り玉プロジェクト販売寄付については、総額が確定次第ご報告いたします。
サンタンは今後オンラインによる教育やボランティアを充実させて、スラムスクールの学習環境をより向上させたいと考えています。初期設備の費用に充てるのが目標です。

サポーターの皆様からの子供たちへの寄付はすべてこの「スラムの未来の貯金箱」に大切に保管しており、1円も無駄にしないようにします。
そして、正確性を保ち、チャリティーの透明性を高めるために、全てを詳しくレポートしていきます。

Piggy Bank for the future in slum school,Delhi———————————————-
Due to this COVID-19 misfortune,we’ve gotten a taste of hursh reality.
Santan,who is our graduate,grown up in this slum is also one of them who lost his job after lockdown in India.
Accordingly,slum school also had closed for a long while too.
He graduated from Delhi university by himself,and got scholarship of Rainbow Children,finally finished master’s degree to learn about tourism or business management to improve environment his community where he had grown up.
After graduation,he has managed free school for children in his slum by his own income,and done awareness building activities of reality of slum as social problem.
Recently,at last slum school has been opened 3days a week.All children have come back to school safely and very happy to study or meet their friends at school.
Under this crisis,donation is very precious for them and also it’s limited. No one knows when the situation will suddenly change again.
So we’ve discussed together carefully and thoroughly how donations received will be used.
Finally we’ve decided we use donation not all at once,but separately every month in a planned and down-to-earth way so that they can keep making ends meet to manage slum school by themselves as possible as they can.

Our decided plan how to use donation———————————————-
We have divided the piggy bank into three according to the purpose so that children can use what they really need now without waste.
Total donation by Rainbow Children×JAMMIN charity event in Japan,Feb.2020:104,500inr(≒157,653jpy)
● Piggy bank ① For stationery and teaching materials costs
14,500inr(≒21,875jpy)
When they run out of stationery and teaching materials for children,it’ll be covered from this.Piggy bank will be managed by our volunteer Mr.Miwa,in India.
● Piggy bank ② For school operation and maintenance costs
5,000inr / month(≒7,543jpy) x 18 months =90,000inr(≒135,778jpy)
If they cannot pay the rent,children can’t use the classroom.Due to COVID-19,the income of Santan had gone sharply.He had been used his own income for school operating expenses.So the rent for the classroom for the time being,and sanitizers/soaps/masks for preventing the spread of infection at school,consumables such as light bulbs or water tanks;Those expenses will be covered from this.
We’ll send 5000inr to Santan at the beginning of every month from piggy bank.
● Piggy bank ③ For improving the learning environment in the future
※We will report the final amount of donation at the “H2O Santa NPO Festival” held in Mar.2021 when it confirms.
Santan hopes to improve the learning environment of the slum school by enhancing online instruction or volunteering in the future.The goal is to cover the cost of initial equipment from this.———————————————-
